Battletoads

  • Battletoads (1991 NES)
    • A new team of fighting mutant reptiles are here and they're taking on the Dark Queen for the fate of the universe in this incredibly hard NES title.
  • Battletoads (1991 Game Boy)
    • The Toads return for a pretty solid, if easier, second entry in the franchise, this time for portable fans.
  • Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
    • A third entry joins the Toads franchise, but this time it really does feel like the seams are starting to show in this inferior SNES entry.
  • Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ulitmate Team
    • The Toads join the Dragon boys for a team-up that meets all expectations (at least if you're a Toads fan).
  • Battletoads (1994 Arcade)
    • The Toads get bloody in this quarter munching arcade title, but the game itself isn't anything special to speak of.

Donkey Kong Country

  • Donkey Kong Country
    • Rare comes out swinging with this fabulous platformer that's remains a classic to play even after the luster of its graphics has faded.
  • Donkey Kong Land
    • Somehow managing to repurpose the SNES title onto the Game Boy, this first Land entry actually feels like a pretty solid entry in its own right.
  • Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
    • Diddy is back, with new pal Dixie, on a quest to find Donkey Kong and once again fight the evil Kremlings.
  • Donkey Kong Land 2
    • Diddy and Dixie return for a Game Boy game that feels all too familar to its SNES source material.

R.C. Pro-Am

  • R.C. Pro-Am
    • Rare's first big success, this game translated racing into a different dimension, creating an enjoyable, arcade-style experience.
  • Super R.C. Pro-Am
    • This Game Boy sequel took everything the NES original did, and then made it better, creating one of the best portable racing titles of its generation.
  • R.C. Pro-Am II
    • This NES sequel adds in a few new twists, but it's overall a weaker experience that can't match what its Game Boy predecessor had on offer.

Other Games

  • The Amazing Spider-Man (1990 Game Boy Game)
    • 1990 saw two unrelated Amazing Spider-man, and this one comes from Rare on the Game Boy... but that doesn't make for a better game.
