Welcome to the Party

Tomorrow I will be heading off to the FFR Rando Marathon, the community’s biannual charity fund drive. It’ll be three continuous days, plus a Thursday pre-show, of fundraising by playing randomizers, and this year we’ll be doing it Live from Charleston, WV. If you already knew about the event and are on your way yourself, I’ll see you there. If you hadn’t heard about it by now, I absolutely hope you will hop on Twitch and watch the marathon from the FFR Channel. The Summer Marathon is for a good cause, supporting the LIAM Foundation, an LGBTQIA+ community organization, with one hundred percent of all proceeds going to the charity.

Naturally I hope you’ll come out and support the cause, and you can donate directly to the drive on the marathon’s Tiltify page.

Of course, since I’ll be out of town this weekend, we won’t have updates here on Asteroid G. But to tide you over, there’s a number of great things you can watch at the Marathon this weekend:

• The Thursday Pre-Show, featuring great runs of Metroid Prime 1 & 2 Crossworld Randomizer, La-Mulana Randomizer, Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories Randomizer, and the Castlevania II Randomizer
• New games never featured before in the marathon, including the aforementioned La-Mulana Randomizer and Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories Randomizer, as well as Shadow the Hedgehog Randomizer, the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Randomizer Mode, Dragon Warrior II Randomizer, Resident Evil 2 Randomizer, a Skyrim Randomizer Mod, and the Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Randomizer
• A three-player race of the always fantastic Metroid Planets
• Four very different races of Final Fantasy VI: Worlds Collide
• The finals of the Final Fantasy Randomizer Marathon Mini-Tournament
• And a TAS-Bot run of the original Final Fantasy.
