I have to say, there were several reasons I didn't want a regular job. I like my irregular hours, and I hate working for other people, so, if I was able to support myself on irregular jobs, I would. I'm close to being able to, but not close enough, so sadly, back I go into the work force.

I work at Lone Star now. One of those steak places that sprang up out of the popularity of Outback. I actually rather like the place, and much as everyone always has horror stories about food service, this place aint too bad to work for. If I do it right, I make more in one night than I sometimes did for a week at Blockbuster. Kinda sad when you look at it like that.

I am of course going to spill everything I learned in my week there so far, cause, heck, no one there will ever read this site. For starters, they have this thing about "Texas Hospitality." I look like the love child of a Hippie and a Jew... which I actually am... and am the last person that should be talking about anything Texas related. Besides which, I always though Texas Hospitality was more about having big guns and beating up gay people. Not something to aspire to for a restaurant.

They say the most important part of my uniform is my smile. I checked... pants doesn't rate very highly on the list. I actually think comfortable shoes are more important to them than pants. If it was just me, I'd rather have a full clothed grumpy person than a really happy dude with his wang sticking out. I mean... sure he's happy, but his wang is way to close to my food.

They want me to remember all the various types of food and what comes with everything... Couldn't these people check the menu? I mean, they ask me "what comes on a potato," and I have to resit the urge to go "FUCKIN BUTTER AND SOUR CREAM!"

How hard is it to read. They obviously can read, otherwise they wouldn't know the names of all the food item. Can't they take the extra 5 seconds and read instead of asking me?

But yeah, that's what I got so far. I'm sure I'll have plenty of good restaurant stories to come.
